TAI CHI · NATURE · TEA · MINDFULNESS · CHINESE LIVING ARTS
Garden Villa Collection is a lifestyle hospitality and wellness retreat brand in Qiandao Lake, China — exploring Chinese wisdom, Eastern aesthetics and transformational travel in a mountain village.
Garden Villa Collection sits in Wangjiayuan Village, Wenchang Town, in the high-speed-rail district of Qiandao Lake — one of Chun'an County's nationally recognised model villages. Set across 6–7 mu of forested hillside with nearly 4,500 sqm of buildings, the retreat is built into the mountain and holds a different kind of beauty in every season. The property opened to the public in 2017 and has spent nearly a decade weaving Tai Chi, tea, flowers, yoga, nature and everyday living into the guest experience.

We chose a hillside in Qiandao Lake because Eastern wisdom should be experienced in nature, not explained indoors. Watching the water and the hills, noticing how moss and flowers grow, feeling how light and the body change across a day — these quiet moments echo a Daoist way of living with the seasons and balancing yin and yang.
Guests are not here to tick off a list of activities. There is time to learn, time to practise, and time to rest.

Wood, stone, linen and earthy tones. No television — only a dimmable lamp, a corner to sit quietly, and a window that lets the mountain in.
Wellness here is not a 2026 addition. For close to a decade the property has placed Tai Chi, tea, flowers, yoga, nature and everyday living at the centre of the guest experience. Practitioners are invited for depth, not for decoration.
We do not move a course indoors; we let the mountain teach. Practise a form, then sit and watch the clouds. Harvest a basket of greens and learn what the season asks you to eat. From 2027, professional Tai Chi retreats lead the way, followed by the Chinese Wisdom Wellness Retreat series.
Sample schedule only; the official programme prevails. Content touching on Chinese medicine and food-as-medicine is offered as cultural learning and general healthy-living experience — not as diagnosis or treatment. Tai Chi teaching in Australia received local media attention as early as 2010, and Australian students travelled to Hangzhou for twelve-day programmes in the years that followed.
For a decade we have hosted annual meetings, retreats, leadership programmes and industry gatherings for companies across technology, manufacturing, finance and consumer brands — and witnessed countless family and personal milestones. Everything can be rebuilt around your theme, your people and your purpose.

The gardens flower through the year and vegetables are grown organically on site. Bathing and drinking water come from spring water stored in the property's reservoir. Qiandao Lake is one of China's recognised wellness destinations, and the property sits within a village recognised for beauty and liveability.
